Zhangwu Village is located in Zhoutian Town, Renhua County, Shaoguan, near the confluence of the Zhenjiang and Lingxi Rivers. It is also known as Zhoutian Village, as it is surrounded by farmland on three sides. Other historical names include Fengdu Village and Heping Village. The village was founded in the mid-Tang Dynasty when the Zhang clan moved here from Zhangshu, Jiangxi. It is the hometown of Zhang Jiuling, a prominent minister of the Tang Dynasty, and the place where the Zhang clan of Lingnan prospered. Many well-preserved Ming and Qing dynasty buildings remain in the village, including traditional Hakka walled houses, ancestral halls, and gatehouses. The ancient alleys have retained their historical appearance, with representative buildings such as the Zhang Clan Ancestral Hall, Jinjian Liufang Ancestral Hall, Jinjian Hall, and Li Family Ancestral Hall.
