Part Five Constructing Fortresses on the Sheer Cliffs

Danxiashan is a typical representative of the mature stage of danxia landscape. Under the joint construction of various external forces such as flowing water, weathering, gravity, karst, and biology, it has developed rock forts, rock walls and pillars, peaks, gullies, through-holes, grooves, vertical caves, and widespread red cliffs. The diverse topography and landscapes provided natural spaces for ancient humans to build rock temples and mountain fortresses during times of peace and war, showcasing the wisdom of adapting to the times and creating survival spaces according to local conditions.
